Sad news today that the iconic cloud installation that graced Glasslands Gallery for the past almost four years is gone. While it’s disappointing, here are some shots from the installation that preceded the clouds. It reminds us that this was always supposed to be temporary. Featured are Iceland’s FM Belfast on May 17, 2008 and Brooklyn’s Longwave, July 16, 2008. RIP, Clouds.

Sun Airway have a new record, Soft Fall, out last month on Dead Oceans. The single, “Close,” is not only one of my favorite songs of 2012 but the video (click here) is also wonderfully done. They play Glasslands on December 7 and it reminded me that I photographed them there almost two years ago on February 12, 2011. I was on assignment at the Knitting Factory that night and hauled ass after the show to Glasslands to catch their set just in time. I never got the photos up until now.
