Sun Airway have a new record, Soft Fall, out last month on Dead Oceans. The single, “Close,” is not only one of my favorite songs of 2012 but the video (click here) is also wonderfully done. They play Glasslands on December 7 and it reminded me that I photographed them there almost two years ago on February 12, 2011. I was on assignment at the Knitting Factory that night and hauled ass after the show to Glasslands to catch their set just in time. I never got the photos up until now. Just bonkers that not even a year after they played to about 25 people at the BrooklynVegan Non-CMJ Day Party, Poliça are headlining Webster Hall. It’s also of note that Spotify had their record up last year and it made my top 50 records of 2011 but it was officially a 2012 (Feb. 14) release.
